Melinda McLauchlin has over sixteen years experience in the environmental profession.  Melinda’s primary area of excellence is in the project management of environmental assessments for developments on federal lands with a particular emphasis on First Nation reserve lands.   Melinda has been responsible for the development and delivery of environmental training courses for Federal staff and First Nation organizations for the last ten years.  Her field experience includes a diverse range of activities that includes environmental site assessments, small facility audits, community waste management plans, water sampling programs, and numerous environmental assessments.

Bruce Thompson has had more than 25 years of experience in the environmental assessment, regulatory and planning field, holding positions in both federal and provincial levels of government, and more recently in the environmental consulting sector.  With Environment Canada, Dr. Thompson directed reviews of Environmental Assessments under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA), and provided advice on impacts and mitigation. He also served as an Inspector under the Fisheries Act and Canadian Environmental Protection Act, investigating violations of this legislation and promoting other means of achieving compliance such as environmental auditing.

Ian brings a wide range of skills and experience to MCA's team with a background in fisheries monitoring, forestry consulting, wildlife projects and environmental reclamation, including revegetation techniques. Ian has worked on various environmental related projects with MCA that include environmental site assessments, environmental impact assessments, numerous environmental assessments for well leases and pipelines on reserve, as well as fuel tank and waste site inventories on First Nation lands throughout Alberta. Ian carries out field reconnaissance, as well as research related to soil, vegetation and wildlife issues.

Steve started his career in INAC Alberta Region, Ft. McMurray Service Centre in 1982.  As Superintendent of Technical Services, Steve provided project management services for the construction and operation of on reserve housing, community buildings, and water and sewer projects. In 1988, Steve moved to Calgary District Office as the Superintendent, Band Support and Capital Management continuing project management services with Treaty 7 First Nations.

With over fourteen years experience in various areas of the Environmental field Mr. McLauchlin has worked as a Conservation Officer, an Environmental Scientist, as a public consultation coordinator, as a resource/conservation management specialist, a Public Safety Professional and in Environmental Protection and Enforcement. Having worked at the Federal, Provincial and community level he has experience in addressing a number of issues related to Environmental Consultation and Management of Large Scale Industrial Projects. He has worked closely with both industry and individual First Nations communities in addressing concerns regarding a large variety of resource developments.

She continues to gain valuable insight and knowledge of running a business through on-line training, coaching, and guidance. Having 20 years of experience as an administrative assistant for a large engineering company, she has accomplished skills, in organization, quality control management, client database management and marketing. She has also been active within the The Association of Administrative Assistants since 2000, and has held several positions on the Executive Committee, and is currently the Membership Registrar for the Edmonton Branch. She thrives on the challenges of balancing her business and family life and views this to be encouragement for her to keep organized and on top of the numerous activities.
